這門課程是介紹廣泛的數值方法，用於解決科學和工程中出現的數學問題。課程目標是提供對這些數值方法的推導、分析和使用的基本理解，以及對各種問題和方法的有限精度算術、條件和穩定性的基本理解。這將幫助同學們選擇、開發和應用適當的數值技術，解釋結果並評估準確性。
This course is an introduction to a broad range of numerical methods for solving mathematical problems that arise in Science and Engineering. The goal is to provide a basic understanding of the derivation, analysis, and use of these numerical methods, along with a rudimentary under standing of finite precision arithmetic and the conditioning and stability of the various problems and methods. This will help you choose, develop and apply the appropriate numerical techniques for your problem, interpret the results, and assess accuracy.
本課程內容包含理論介紹、公式推導、軟體工具應用、工程應用範例與習題，內容多元，由於其知識泛用於工程、數理科學、統計分析，甚至被選入本校能源學程選修及（跨領域）神經科學學分課程。
